May 2 Performances
Rezarta Seferi, e pluribus ur mom, 2026
Rezarta Seferi performs a solo set that similarly merges scripted dialogue with improv— a set she describes using the phrases “e pluribus ur mom” and “coauthor the universe.” Her prompts, framing, and engagement with viewers provoke spontaneous discussion, stitching together a world that brings audiences along to unexpected places.
Written, directed and performed by Rezarta Seferi
Sophie Becker, Ronnie’s World, 2026
Becker performs with Ronnie, her girl dummy, presenting a segment of a work in development for a theatrical setting. Embracing the kitsch history of ventriloquism, Becker interpolates a type of masculine entertainment style once featured on midcentury prime time, late-night shows, and children’s television.
Developed at Kunstplaats Vonk, Belgium
Symara Sarai, The LOVE piece (EXCERPT), 2025–ongoing
Symara Sarai presents a version of The LOVE piece (2025–ongoing), an evolving solo work in which they perform with three mirrors. The work explores romantic love, but as it transpires, it becomes very much about the self in relation to an other that remains abstract. Engaging in sensual acts with their reflection, Sarai embraces the inherent narcissism of love in a full spectrum of emotion, from sincerity to humor to rage.
