Discover the magic of natural color in this hands-on workshop. Using seasonal flowers, food scraps, and other natural materials, participants will learn the basics of natural dyes, while experimenting with bundle-dyeing techniques to create unique patterns and colors on cloth. This workshop is open to families with kids age 7+.
She is a founding team member of the Textile Arts Center (TAC), where she is was co-Executive Director, and founded the project Sewing Seeds, which activated natural dye gardens in empty lots and community gardens in Brooklyn. Rodrigues is currently a co-lead for Pratt’s Natural Dye Garden and a collaborator of The Mothership, an eco feminist project by Yto Barrada in Tangier, Morocco. She teaches textile materiality at Pratt Institute, TAC, Ox-Bow, Rhode Island School of Art, and other venues.
