Warm Up, our signature outdoor music series, returns for its 28th season over six Fridays in July and August. This summer staple invites underground and emerging talents from around the world to our courtyard in Queens.
This season, Lloyd Barnes, founder of Bronx reggae label Wackies and founding member of Basic Channel Mark Ernestus collaborate on a set that blends vocalists from early Wackies releases with the style of dub techno invented by the label. keiyaA brings a live performance of her artful R&B, while trio PureLink performs their ambient, abstracted dance music. Duo SCRAAATCH pays tribute to the late Yasunao Tone’s Solo for Wounded CD with a noisy, experimental set. Belo Horizonte-based DJ Anderson do Paraíso drops energetic baile funk in his US debut, joining artists like BADSISTA, RHR, and DJ WORKING CLASS, who are known for redefining dance music’s bassline rhythms in São Paulo and beyond. Cortisa Star brings lyrical drill beats, while Rotterdam-based De Schuurman hones his take on the “bubbling” sound. Mabe Fratti performs in a trio that highlights her drone-inspired cello bowing.
In celebration of MoMA PS1’s 50th Anniversary, the season will feature notable performers from Warm Up’s history. Sound artist Lary 7, who performed at the first-ever Warm Up in 1998, creates intricate soundscapes from a vast collection of found objects and returns to PS1. Detroit Sound trailblazer and 3Chairs alumnus Marcellus Pittman returns for the first time since 2013. Parisian producer Crystallmess returns to Warm Up in a headlining b2b with LA-based BAE BAE of Hood Rave. The series opening weekend also features a special programmatic partnership with the experimental music platform Terraforma EXO, with talks, film screenings, and more to be announced.
Throughout the summer, artists will perform on a stage designed by New York City-based artist Somnath Bhatt. During each Warm Up, experience the creativity of NY artists in Greater New York while the museum galleries stay open late, and wander through Precious Okoyomon’s living forest.
Single-day tickets are available now. Season passes offer a discount and are available through July 24 at 10 p.m., and guarantee expedited entry to all dates.

About Warm Up 2026
Warm Up 2026 is organized by Kari Rittenbach, Assistant Curator; and Nick Scavo, Senior Project Manager, Music, Performance, and Events; with Sheldon Gooch, Curatorial Assistant. This year’s host committee is comprised of artists connected to dance music and New York City nightlife: Diane Severin Nguyen (Greater New York 2021), Women’s History Museum (Greater New York 2026), hannah baer (writer and therapist), Lysis (dancer, Ceremonies Out of the Air: Ralph Lemon), and Elliot Reed (This Longing Vessel: Studio Museum Artists in Residence 2019–20).
Since 1998, Warm Up has presented experimental and avant-garde music that forms an integral part of PS1’s multidisciplinary programming across under-known subcultures, scenes, and communities. A groundbreaking and influential series that amplifies emerging, underground, and legendary performers alike, Warm Up has presented renowned DJs and producers such as Honey Dijon, SOPHIE, DJ Spooky, Yasunao Tone, Easyfun, Arca, and Crystallmess. Today, the legendary summer program foregrounds international and diasporic perspectives within emergent generations of experimental and club music. Building on the growing resurgence of night-life genres, the series also serves to recontextualize historic figures and regional sounds for new audiences. Warm Up offers an environment for unique encounters between local and international art and music audiences, at an all-ages hour within the setting of a premiere cultural institution.
