Block Printing

Join us for a hands-on printmaking workshop exploring carteleras, popular poster designs in Latin America with bold lettering for broad audiences. Artist Lizania Cruz, whose work is on view in LA ESCUELA___: Education as Resistance, will introduce carteleras and their influence on her practice. Master Printer John Andrews of Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop will also help participants create their own works using letterpress, linocut, and rubber-stamping printmaking techniques—no prior experience is necessary.
