School Nite is MoMA PS1’s new, after-hours music series amplifying the next generation of sound. Rising digital, internet-based, and underground acts take over our former schoolhouse with live performances. Across genres and disciplines, the series spotlights rising talent and the scenes shaping culture in real time, with after-hours gallery access to MoMA PS1’s exhibitions and a cash bar.
The 2026 season kicks off with live performances from perreo-pop legend Isabella Lovestory and dance-pop-kompa fusion duo B0YG1RL, plus a maximalist set by rising NYC-based producer ali rq (DJ).

Honduras-born experimental-music icon Isabella Lovestory is a trailblazing force at the intersection of pop and reggaeton. In 2022, she made her mark with her debut Amor Hardcore, which Pitchfork characterized as “playful, maximalist, and flirtatious to the core.” With an experimental reggaeton sound equally influenced by Spanish trap and goth electronica, she pushed her maximalist sonic experiment even further with 2025’s Vanity, which received a JUNO nomination for Latin Music Recording of the Year.
Haitian/Honduran duo B0YG1RL (composer June Vinette and filmmaker Angela Rio) is an experimental, Black, queer, and trans electronic music project and multimedia visual art collective. Serving up an off-kilter cocktail of local Miami bass, baile funk, Haitian konpas, and dembow riddims, they’ve quickly earned co-signs from underground heavyweights such as Crystallmess, Umru, Ninajirachi, Nick León, and Frank Dorrey. From the white-hot, fizzing-synth frenzy of their breakout single “Je M’appelle Tété” to the bludgeoning 808s and raw off-ramps of their EXIT 2B EP, B0YG1RL has been releasing rule-breaking bangers juxtaposed with unexpected downtempo groundings, trading pristine redlining for a raw, verité style celebrating community, resilience, Afro-diasporic storytelling, and Miami geography.
ali rq is a 21-year-old DJ, producer, and artist born and raised in New York City. Ali’s intoxicating and sometimes even unhinged sets span Miami Music Week, direct support for artists like horsegiirL and Snow Strippers, and prestigious clubs across Europe. She is also one of rising it-girl Cece Natalie’s core collaborators, and joined her as the opening act for PinkPantheress’s Fancy That North American tour.
