As part of Homeroom: The Revolution is a School, Slow Factory hosts a series of workshops and conversations fostering social and climate justice learning. The series extends Slow Factory’s commitment to the classroom as a revolutionary space, situating social change, artmaking, and community building as intersecting practices.

Makayla Wray brings her iconic sidewalk seamstress cart to MoMA PS1 for a lesson in upcycling your most beloved items. Workshop attendees will learn to create their very own plush teddy bear keychain using scrap clothing.

Fashion designer and street tailor Makayla Wray blends music, art, culture, and lifestyle to merge high fashion with street culture. She mends clothes, buttons, and gives worn items a second chance from her mobile pushcart in NYC.
