Help Shape the Future of MoMA PS1

Giving at MoMA PS1 means supporting boundary-breaking ideas and practices that center artists, engage communities, and embrace collective action. To achieve our mission, PS1 receives support from a constellation of donors—including individuals, trusts and foundations, and corporate partners—whose generosity is critical to shaping our future and enabling us to realize artists’ visions. To make a donation, please contact development_ps1@moma.org.

Annual Exhibition Fund

Combining a fast-moving, provocative approach to exhibitions with the direct partnership with artists, MoMA PS1 presents an extensive program of exhibitions and events in its nearly 125,000-square-foot repurposed school building in Long Island City, Queens. Unlike other museums, where exhibitions are scheduled years in advance, PS1 maintains a flexible calendar. While this affords PS1 the freedom to present “of-the-moment” work, planning time is significantly shorter—often no more than three to six months. The PS1 Annual Exhibition Fund was created to help ensure the success of this vibrant program of exhibitions within a shortened time frame.

Benefit Gala

MoMA PS1’s Annual Benefit Gala is the museum’s largest fundraising event of the year. The Gala benefits PS1’s general operating fund, which supports our wide range of artist-centric and community-driven programming.

For the first time ever, the 2022 Benefit Gala was held in PS1’s Courtyard, and celebrated the institution’s past, present, and future. The event honored the legendary Agnes Gund, former Chair of PS1’s Board of Directors, and a constellation of artists, including Djali Brown-Cepeda, founder of the digital archiving project Nuevayorkinos; Rashid Johnson, whose site-specific installation Stage is on view in the Courtyard; and Deana Lawson, the subject of a career-long survey on view through September 5. The event was co-chaired by Sarah Arison, Chair of the PS1 Board; Robert Soros, PS1 board member, and Darren Walker, President of the Ford Foundation.

Stay tuned for more information about the 2023 Annual Benefit Gala.
