Make a Mini-Comic with Julien Ceccaldi
Julien Ceccaldi’s exhibition Adult Theater invites visitors into the distorted world of the artist’s self-published comics, drawing on influences from anime to German fairy tales and underground comix. Ceccaldi joined us to lead local teens through a comics-writing workshop this July, sharing his knowledge of a medium that has inspired generations of artists. Each participant came away with a mini-comic that chronicled a snapshot of their everyday life.
For this workshop, Ceccaldi produced the booklet How to Make a Mini-Comic as a guide for artists and comics enthusiasts of all ages. You can read through his instructional zine at the top of this page.
To create your own comic, all you need is a sheet of paper, a blue pencil, and an ink pen. Download a blank template below. What story will you tell?
